Over the course of history many cultures have had traditions, rituals, and ceremonies to help create a deeper connection to spirit, to community, and to oneself. There is a unique experience that happens when humans gather together in community all sharing their energy for a common intention. In fact, there have been studies that having a physical thing to do when focusing on intentions makes them more powerful because having a specific thing to focus your energy, magic, and intentions makes them more potent!

We are living in a special and pivotal time where we have the great privilege to connect with and embrace these sacred tools to nurture us and transform our lives for the better – this will have a powerful ripple effect of love on our community, and in turn, the world.

Some of our ceremonies may involve plant medicine, or sacred rituals specific to a particular culture, practice or lineage. We bring traditions from different regions and cultures from all over the world to you in LA and empower you to find your own truth and create your own divine connection.

We honor ancient cultures and traditions and hold them in the highest light and respect. We honor each person’s freedom to create new ways to connect with themselves and the divine. Ceremony is a powerful way to connect with ourselves, the divine and community, and each ceremony can help us process pain, trauma and major life events as well as help us celebrate all the good in life. Rituals in ceremony can bless, clear energy, facilitate releasing of old stories, narratives and identities we are ready to move beyond, as well as help cut energetic cords, manifest dreams and bring abundance into our lives.

At Liberate we embrace all religions, traditions and cultures. We find that in today’s ever-expanding reality, we live in a very blessed time because we are able to offer the sacred container of ritual and ceremony with more openness and freedom. All are welcome.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We supply everything needed for each ceremony and ritual. Every ceremony is different, and the description of each ceremony on our calendar will tell you exactly what the focus will be and what is involved.

Some ceremonies may have meditative portions that involve laying down or even the use of a blindfold for a heightened sensory experience (our cacao ceremonies often encourage the use of blindfolds). We want you to be comfortable and honor whatever you need to do to feel safe. Some ceremonies include plant medicine like cacao, rapé (sacred tobacco snuff) or tea.

Ceremonies and rituals are almost always meant for you to set intentions, release what isn’t serving you and connect with what you desire. Sometimes ceremonies will involve energy work, helping you open and balance your chakras for deep healing.

Come with an open mind. Some ceremonies will request you to have a clean diet beforehand to prepare you for the experience. We have one of the best spaces in LA for ceremony – a beautiful, spiritual outdoor space in Sherman Oaks that is well-ventilated and covid-safe.

RITUALS VS. CEREMONIES - WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

Rituals and Ceremonies are two words that are often used interchangeably, and that are easily confused when it comes to understanding their meanings and connotations. A ritual refers to a group of actions performed for their symbolic value. On the other hand, a ceremony is a ritual performed on a special occasion, i.e. a full moon or spiritual holiday.

Why would you attend a ceremony or ritual?

If you are unsure if you are on the right path, or questioning your journey, a ceremony/ritual is a wonderful place to receive loving and higher spiritual guidance.

Rituals are powerful containers for transformation and clarity. They provide a facilitated and communal space for you to open up to your truth and yourself in order to look deep within. 

Many rituals allow us to gain a higher level perspective on problems, paths, and healing that we are seeking. Many of our rituals and ceremonies are guided my amazing facilitators who are experts at helping you see your soul and path from a higher perspective. 

Ceremonies are also a great way to reconnect to your community, culture, ancestry, and mother nature (or anything else you believe in). Facilitators can create the perfect environment for you to feel connected to something larger than yourself and in turn find connection to the parts inside of yourself. Spirituality is not just self help, it a way to tap into something greater than you and it is often a big piece missing from many people’s lives.

Lastly, if you are looking for deep awareness and transformation, then rituals are the perfect place for that magic. Not only will you be guided to tap into your own magic, but the magic of everyone present, the facilitator, and anything else they bring into the ritual. This is a potent part of rituals that many people miss out on. Attend a ritual and be ready for big changes and manifestations to fly into your life!

When to attend a ceremony or ritual?

Any time you are going through a major life change or transition, ceremony can be an especially powerful experience, helping you symbolically – and literally – step out of the old and across the threshold of the new.

We also believe you should trust your intuition, so if you are reading this and are finding yourself interested, it is likely a good time to attend a ritual or ceremony. Rituals and ceremonies can be performed any time. Trust in your ability to know what’s right for you.

what is metaphysics

Metaphysics is the most abstract branch of philosophy that deals with the first principles of existence. In Greek, the word metaphysics means “after the things of nature”.

Metaphysics examines the very nature of reality. It offers explanations for phenomena that cannot be explained by “natural” science or that are “beyond the physical”.

This science studies the individual as a whole, as a physical and spiritual being.

Certain types of chakra healing and other holistic, spiritual healing practices, personal development, and even business coaching are based on metaphysics. They typically include working on physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of one’s being to resolve issues that person is facing.

The fundamental law of metaphysics is that every action or decision causes a reaction or an effect. Everything that happens to us (positive or negative) results from past actions or decisions in this lifetime or before the present life.

Similarly, everything we do now will have an effect on our life in the future. This law is better known as karma (action).

It is also believed that we must resolve our life’s issues in this lifetime.

What is metaphysical counseling?

Metaphysical counseling is based on the principle that everyone is sent by the Soul (higher self) to grow at all levels of their being through their life experiences and the lessons they learn in life.

Sometimes referred to as spiritual or transpersonal counseling, it represents a whole person approach – body, mind, and spirit. This type of counseling helps us better understand our life experiences by explaining aspects that our senses cannot perceive.

To put it simply, metaphysical counseling is a form of therapy that empowers us to empower ourselves.

There are many ways metaphysical counseling can take place. This will depend on the practitioner you choose, the kind of spirituality they practice, and the specific issues you may be looking to address.

Some counselors will advise you on the use of crystals for healing, while others will stress the importance of prayer.

This is why it is essential to find a counselor whose beliefs align with yours. Otherwise, your counseling might not have the desired effect.

What can metaphysical counseling help us with?

Metaphysical counseling is a type of holistic-approach therapy based on spiritual principles. This psycho-spiritual approach helps people live a more authentic life by making conscious choices.

What does a metaphysical counselor do?

A metaphysical counselor is capable of healing not only the human mind but the body as well. They can help with various mental issues, including depression, anxiety, and loneliness, or any physical illness, by offering guidance and support to their clients.

A metaphysical counselor can help us navigate our way to health, success, strength, or anything else we desire. They also help clients understand their spiritual nature in this lifetime and beyond.

Each counselor will have their own approach; some will focus on the metaphysical properties of the things around you and how to use those to your benefit, while others will prefer working on your own inner world.

We are all exposed to various positive and negative influences that shape our daily actions, thoughts, and reality. Negative impacts lead to issues like anxiety, negativity, and close-mindedness.

Metaphysical counseling aims to free people from these negative influences and their effects.

Gaining a better understanding of ourselves and our connection to the physical and spiritual world surrounding us with the help of a metaphysical counselor gives us the ability to recognize these harmful influences and build a defense mechanism.

The root of these problems lies deeper than the physical, mental, or emotional sphere. To find a solution, we must target the source. And that lies at the deepest and wisest level of our being – the level of the Soul. Many life situations can only be addressed through the metaphysical laws, and the soul factor is always present. Metaphysical counselors teach us numerous powerful techniques and spiritual principles we can utilize to find the greater good in any challenging situation.

They give us the tools to find a solution to our life issues without a struggle, using less energy in the process.

What to expect from your first metaphysical counseling session

During the first session, the client answers a series of questions regarding their life and the issues that are troubling them.

The counselor listens attentively to understand not only the surface issue but also the stressful beliefs and patterns that are causing the problem.

Further steps depend on the specific type of counseling and the counselor you choose. But after a counseling session, the goal is for clients to experience a greater sense of inner peace and well-being.

Not a one-size-fits-all approach

Metaphysics is a versatile form of therapy, so it can be adjusted to the client’s changing needs as the sessions develop.
